SCIENCE PARK
Science parks, important examples of which are to be found in the developed countries, are centers where Science and Technology, creating their own resources, interact in a dynamic way for the development together with the Industry. The objectives of science parks can be stated as follows: to develop high-tech products, to promote the establishment and development of small-sized enterprises, to increase employment opportunities and to promote regional development. And for this precise purpose the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry has initiated the construction of the Science Park on a 2 million m2 area located to the north of the EOID.
The development of the Science Park, inaugurated by President Süleyman Demirel in April 1997, is continuing with the new investments. Financial resources for the construction of this Science Park will be provided by the “Natural Gas Power Plant”, which was also constructed by our chamber.
On the Science Park, modern, environment-friendly buildings with 1000-2000 m2 of covered floor-space are scheduled for construction, to be offered to high-tech companies either for sale or rent. All necessary infrastructure systems such as water, electricity, natural gas, sewerage, drainage and telecommunications will be supplied.
Telecom Vocational High School has already been completed on the Park and Anadolu University also plans to open a school for higher education as well as a Multi Program Vocational High School. These educational institutions will provide qualified personnel of different professions to meet the needs of our industry.
Among the primary objectives of the Eskişehir Science Park are to contribute to the technological development of the province, the neighboring regions and the country as a whole, in order to increase Turkey’s contribution to international technology through national research and development activities; to promote the use of high technology in small and medium -sized industries; to promote industrial researches in the province and the neighboring regions.
