ECI in the Champions League of Chambers Worldwide
The Eskişehir Chamber of Industry (ECI) has achieved a major international success through the work carried out by its Sustainable Green Industry Unit and Model Factory. Standing out among projects from all over the world, ECI ranked among the top four chambers in the World Chambers Competition organized by the World Chambers Federation (WCF) and qualified for the finals.
Commenting on the achievement, ECI President Celalettin Kesikbaş stated:
“As ECI, we are extremely proud to see our sustainability vision transformed into an international success. Reaching the finals with the services we provide in the fields of green and lean transformation, among 83 projects from 41 countries in the World Chambers Competition organized by the World Chambers Federation, is highly gratifying for both our city and our country. We will continue to promote Eskişehir as a leading city in achieving sustainable development goals.”
Eskişehir’s Green Industry Vision in the Champions League
In his statement, Kesikbaş said:
“Being part of what can be described as the Champions League for chambers worldwide, and having Eskişehir’s signature represented in Melbourne, is a historic achievement for us. The global recognition of our work, which has become a model in green transformation, sustainability, and resource efficiency, is an important proof of Eskişehir’s production strength and visionary approach.”
We Will Continue to Be a Model in Green, Digital, and Social Transformation
Emphasizing that they are fully aware of the impact of the European Green Deal on industry, Kesikbaş noted:
“Eskişehir exports over 4.5 billion dollars, and half of our total exports go to European Union countries. For this reason, in 2021 we established our Sustainable Green Industry Unit, followed shortly by the ECI Model Factory, creating a comprehensive and integrated service infrastructure for our industrialists. Through ECI Academy, we transform our human resources; we guide our companies with carbon footprint calculations and green roadmaps; and we take the lead in productivity and digitalization. While doing so, we design our projects with a chamber vision that is socially oriented.
This model has inspired many chambers in our country and is now being presented as a best practice on a global scale. This success belongs not only to ECI, but also to all our stakeholders, members, and our city. I sincerely thank all my colleagues who contributed to this project.”
